Instead of focusing on the Vancouver Canucks, this tale simply focuses on a Vancouver native.

The wife of San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane, Anna, has accused her husband of betting on NHL games, including his own. An investigation by the NHL is underway. “Dirty laundry” from the spouses was flying publicly Saturday, as the San Jose Hockey Now article shares.

This morning, on his twitter account, Kane vehemently denied the accusations and defended his parenting.

Kane grew up rooting for his hometown Vancouver Canucks.

He played two-plus seasons with the Vancouver Giants in the Western Hockey League before being drafted 4th-overall in the 2009 NHL Draft to the Atlanta Thrashers. After six seasons with the Thrashers/new Winnipeg Jets, he was traded in 2015 to the Buffalo Sabres where he spent most of the next three seasons.

Kane was traded to the San Jose Sharks at the NHL Trade Deadline in 2018 and has been with that organization since.

Leading up to this season he had tallied 264 goals and 242 assists in just under 800 NHL games played.
