A Funny Thing Happened Before Heading to Vancouver Canucks Training Camp
I flipped on the telly and …… DOH!! Look! Vancouver Canucks.
Today’s sideline special: Vancouver @Canucks Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes – big BLUE fans!#GoBlue〽️ pic.twitter.com/5pHm1tgVLk

So wait … let me get this straight … if they’re there … that means they’re not anywhere around … here. (You may have noticed we’ve been telling you here at VHN not to hold your breath.) Vancouver Canucks fans hope that changes quickly.
There’s a bigger Michigan connection than this photo reveals. Quinn attended school there, his little brother Luke, the 4th overall pick of the New Jersey Devils this summer, goes there now. One of the sons of their agent Pat Brisson also attends university there.
Will Lockwood, who you’ll hear more from here shortly, is also a Michigan alum’ and grew up outside of Detroit in Royal Oak. Forward Sheldon Dries is in Vancouver Canucks camp – he’s from Macomb, Michigan, northeast of Motown, and Tyler Motte, soon to return from injury, is from very close to there, St. Clair, Michigan.
The Vancouver Canucks play their first exhibition game tomorrow (Sunday) evening in Spokane against the expansion Seattle Kraken. It’s that franchise’s first ever exhibition game.
Left-shot defenceman prospect Jack Rathbone should get a pretty good look for the Canucks.
