The Vancouver police are investigating.

“A 25-year-old man had very visible injuries to his face,” said a police spokesperson. “He declined any assistance from paramedics and told officers he would go to the hospital himself.”

Based on the report, this would not have been older Benning brother Brandon, who works as a scout for the Vancouver Canucks.

GM Benning and the club did not have comment.

VHN passes along our sincere wishes for a speedy and full recovery, and that the assailants are located.
