Vancouver Canucks Off, Simmer’s Game Day, Winners on Friday

Published

on

Simmer missed the NHL matinee picks while covering Vancouver Canucks practice, see related story, but has a solid look at the Saturday evening games.

After a 4-and-1 record on Thursday, Simmer went 2-and-1 on Friday.

Winners: Montreal Canadiens under and the Florida Panthers.

Loser: Habs

For Saturday the following games are predicted:

Washington Capitals at Montreal Canadiens

Winnipeg Jets at Tampa Bay Lightning

Toronto Maple Leafs at Ottawa Senators

Arizona Coyotes at Calgary Flames

As for scoreboard watching for playoff purposes, the Vancouver Canucks would not be happy with the Nashville Predators defeating the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 earlier on Saturday, and will be watching to see how the Los Angeles Kings do hosting the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Dallas Stars do against the San Jose Sharks.

Vancouver is on a five game winning streak with points in their last six games and host the Stars on Monday night. With a win Saturday, Dallas could move 7 points ahead of Vancouver with the same number of games played.

The Vancouver Canucks on the season stand at 37-28-20.
