The Vancouver Canucks scrimmaging during informal practices in Burnaby.

We know they’re two Canucks who aren’t possibly stuck in Russia. We don’t think they’re lingering on campus after a University of Michigan football game, but then again, if you’ve been to Ann Arbor, who could blame them.

Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson were the only two Canucks regulars missing from informal practice on Monday in Burnaby.

The club’s veterans will lace them up again this morning and we’ll see if attendance is perfect. No big deal really, it’s not like a year ago when everyone was waiting for them to sign new contracts and they missed training camp.

The fellas in Ann Arbor, September 2021.

Canucks captain Bo Horvat is the man with the contract questions this time around, although the situation is completely different. He’s here, skating, and has a year left on his present deal. Negotiations continue.

Let’s Go for an NHL Spin!

Colorado Hockey Now: The most recent free agent to land is Evan Rodrigues. Colorado presents the scouting report. What are the Colorado Avalanche getting?

Free agents?! How about unrestricted free agents? Take away ‘E-Rod’ and the Hockey News offers up the top nine remaining options on the UFA market.

Captain, My Captain

We mentioned the other day that the Flyers potential new captain Sean Couturier was addressing the media. Turns out he was embarrassed by last season. He also promised the Philadelphia Flyers won’t get pushed around this season. The Vancouver Canucks get to find out if that’s true in the first week.

Montreal Hockey Now: Our brethren out east summed it up nicely — “Wearing the C for the Canadiens is like walking with the gods.” The lineage stretches back through history with some of the greatest players ever. Nick Suzuki will become the youngest ever captain for the Montreal Canadiens.

East Beasts

Washington Hockey Now: Carl Hagelin is getting closer to officially making a comeback attempt. With damaged vision in one eye, he’s trying to get his game together. What does that mean for the Washington Capitals?

NYI Hockey Now: Stefen Rosner asked around between Hockey Now staffers and outside analysts to find out if they think the New York Islanders will make the playoffs.

Will the Vancouver Canucks make the playoffs??

Have a great day!
